“Thank you” from the Chile Fest Silent Auction Committee

Thanks to the contributions of many thoughtful and generous people, the 2018 Chile Fest Silent Auction was quite a successful event.  The Silent Auction Team appreciates everyone at SOTV who:

  • purchased chile items to make baskets or add to the variety of items offered;
  • organized their own themed basket or crafted an item;
  • visited friends and neighbors and brought in their donations;
  • donated the necessary, the playful, the decorative, and unique;
  • and, after our plea in late July, sought out even more quality items to donate.

To add to the generosity of SOTV members and friends, the Chile Fest partnering churches provided us with unique, sought-after articles that were popular with auction-goers.  The Albuquerque community—both private citizens and businesses—also contributed so that an Albuquerque family could build their own home.  And the crafters—who were not required to donate an item as of 2018—were very generous in their efforts to help the Habitat for Humanity cause; over sixty-five percent donated an item!

“Thank you” to everyone—your kind donations made
the Silent Auction very appealing!

To our volunteers—you rounded out the success with the very special gifts of your time and goodwill.  Extra thanks go to those who covered for people who couldn’t be there and stayed to take positions that weren’t filled.

“Thank you” for serving as craft intake clerks, cashiers,
door monitors, table and closing attendants, runners,
and callers—we couldn’t have done it without you!

Through everyone’s efforts, the Silent Auction reported approximately $8,000 in earnings—a generous sum to help another deserving Albuquerque family build a home of their own.  Thank you!
